Over the past weekend, Myst Carnival unveiled the hidden treasures they’ve been carefully curating for this year’s Carnival. Treasures, Myst’s 2026 collection, features five distinct sections: Jewel of the Caribbean, Crown Jewels, Jade Dynasty, House of Amber, and Maasai. The band also revealed their Monday wear, Explorers.

Jade Dynasty
Inspired by ancient Chinese culture, this section is an immediate eye-catcher. The bold red and soft green palette complements both the male and female costumes beautifully, creating a striking visual balance. Each offering is richly adorned with jeweled detailing, adding depth and visual interest throughout the section.
One unexpected and refreshing element is the inclusion of mesh, long sleeves in one of the women’s designs—an uncommon feature in Carnival costuming. Still, the true stars of this section are the ornate headpieces worn by the women, dramatic and regal enough to make anyone who wears them feel like a show-stopping presence.
Maasai
Inspired by the Maasai tribe of southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, the craftsmanship in this section is immediately striking. The beading across the costumes is meticulous and thoughtfully executed, showcasing an impressive level of detail.
The most elaborate women’s option—likely the priciest due to its many components—features a dramatic back piece adorned with brightly coloured feathers and intricate beading, complemented by a feathered headband and richly designed leg wear. The men’s costume is equally compelling, offering a beaded chest piece with feathered arm and leg bands, with the option to include a back piece or go without.
The colour palette in the Maasai section is universally flattering, and the level of craftsmanship will likely leave mas players feeling they’ve truly gotten value for their money.
Explorers
The Monday wear, Explorers, is reminiscent of Banana Republic’s original safari-era designs. Rendered in khaki green, the looks strike a balance between functional and stylish, with subtle sparkle added to the women’s options. Participants can also opt for bucket hats, offering sun protection while staying on theme throughout the day.
Explorers is a standout for us because the inspiration is instantly clear. From the moment you see the designs, the vibe is unmistakable—making it easy to step into character if you choose to jam with Myst on Carnival Monday.
