This year has been especially eventful for local music. Our team curated a diverse list of songs across multiple genres and ranked them based on popularity, production quality, and lyrical impact.

8. Rather Deyya- Jxrdan x Niqko

A smooth, romantic dancehall tune on Rvssian’s Storybook Riddim that celebrates being with your partner.

7. Great and Mighty- Rashid Walker

The lone gospel song on the list, its upbeat message and energy made it an anthem for positivity this year.

6. Spread Out- Kaution Band

A Carnival road favorite! If you were out for Antigua Mas, you definitely heard this one.

5. De Man- Kaution Band

The band’s second entry on our list, this energetic song helped secure Kid Fresh’s position as a finalist in this year’s Party Monarch Competition.

4. Blame- Island Prince

One of Antigua’s young promising musical acts, Island Prince started the year strong with the release of this song showing he’s becoming a staple in Antigua’s soca scene.

3. Antigua Mas- Tian Winter

This song earned Tian Winter what may be one of his final titles, as he walked away with both the Jumpy and Groovy Party Monarch crowns this year—titles he says will be his last before stepping away from competition. Antigua Mas is an infectious anthem that gets your blood pumping and primes you for the full excitement of Antigua’s Carnival season.

2. A- Plus Whine- Young Lyrics

If you are a fan of wordplay, you probably love this song from Young Lyrics. Another young artist, Young Lyrics made major headway with this song which earned him the first runner-up position in the groovy segment of the Party Monarch Competition.

1. Go Low Low (Remix) Island Spice x Riddim Master

Say what you will, but this song made an impression. Paying homage to the iconic Burning Flames, it takes you on quite a journey- going low like a go-go, knowing your worth, and frolicking under the red-hot flames. This song sparked much attention and recreations earning it the number one position on our list.
